Every Series RegimeLens Can Put on Your Chart
Thirteen dataset families, 40+ series — plus anything you bring yourself. Green means free with your own keys (BYOK); gold means a RegimeLens-derived index served by the €29 / month feed. Nothing here is redistributed raw data.
You do not have to choose between them. Hand the catalogue to the analyst and it ranks the series against your instrument, puts the strongest on the axis and takes the rest off — naming the number rather than plotting it. Which series is worth the axis →

Which of These Is Worth the Axis
More series is not more insight. Ask the analyst to put the right overlay on and it ranks all five macro families against the instrument on the window you are looking at, keeps the strongest, and removes anything it cannot tell apart from nothing.
| Series | Source family | r vs XAUUSD · 90d | r · 250d | What the analyst does with it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FRED CPI YoY | FRED · BLS | +0.65 | +0.51 | strongest of the five — put on the price axis |
| GDELT tone index | GDELT | −0.44 | −0.28 | kept, second on the ranking |
| COT net positioning | CFTC | +0.32 | +0.37 | kept |
| ACLED escalation | ACLED | +0.29 | +0.49 | kept — and the strongest on a 250-session window |
| Fed Funds rate | FRED · NY Fed | −0.12 | −0.20 | removed — inside the noise floor at 90 sessions |
Pearson r on log returns against each series' shock, on the window ending at the right edge of the view. Below |r| = 0.15 the sample cannot tell the relationship from nothing, so the analyst takes the series off the axis and says so rather than drawing a line you would read meaning into.
Why the Raw Data Is Free and the Indices Are Not
Most market-data companies resell data they license from someone else, which is why their prices are what they are and why their terms forbid you from doing almost anything with it. RegimeLens is built the other way round.
- Raw data via your own keys. FRED, ACLED, the CFTC and your exchange are contacted directly from your machine with credentials you hold. We never touch that data, so we need no redistribution rights and you inherit the provider's own — often very permissive — terms.
- The feed = our transformed indices. It contains only things we compute: tone by theme from GDELT's 2 GB/day, an escalation index from ACLED's event records, cleaned positioning z-scores from CFTC files, the regime read. These are derived works, licensed to you for personal use, refreshed on our servers so your laptop does not have to.
- Everything in the feed can be recomputed locally. The recipes are open. If you have the disk, bandwidth and patience, you never need the feed.
